How Dog Training Works

One of the most asked questions that we hear is, "What will it cost to train my dog?" There are several factors that determine the best program for your pet.

  • Your expectations
  • Your goals
  • A professional evaluation of your dog

Many variables must be considered before we can accurately determine the price to train your pet.  We have compiled some information so you will know what to expect when you meet with our Staff and Trainers.

1. To Make a Dog Training Appointment

  • Call or email us.
  • We agree on a date and time for you to bring your pet in.
  • We make it as convenient for you as possible.
  • Our staff will ask you to gather the necessary shot records.
  • We even provide the required documents in advance if needed.

2. Dog Training Evaluation

Proper dog training requires the help of the entire family. We recommend that everyone who interacts with your pet participate. During evaluation, we assess the state of your pet.

We assess how you and your family interact with the pet and determine your expectations. Are you most interested in dog protection for your family or attack training? Do you want to improve the social behavior of your dog? What about dog agility, size and temperament? Is your dog capable of the type of dog training you desire? Perhaps you’re simply looking for better dog obedience.

Our dog training experts are specialists in all of these areas. We’re confident that we can design a dog obedience training strategy that will fit your dog’s real abilities and your adjusted expectations.

3. Dog Training Agreement

Now we can suggest a dog training package that will address your needs and take into account you dog’s unique temperament and ability. At this point we can apply a price for the services you are desire. We draw up an agreement, let you know what to expect, and go to work.

4. Dog Training Sessions

The dog training process is never traumatic, painful or stressful for your pet—or you. Pets invariably respond positively to our training.

5. Dog Training Follow Up

At Man’s Best Friend, we believe that follow-up dog training sessions are vital to achieving the goals set during your evaluation. We schedule this phase of the process at times most convenient to you.

From here, it is your story to tell. We know that you and your pet will enjoy your times together and the stories that you can tell are waiting to be written.
