Man's Best Friend was founded in July 1980, in Houston, Texas by the Bolander family. Their vision was to offer dog owners a unique dog-training center, providing personal assistance to each customer. Obedience, behavioral problem solving, and personal and family protection services were now available in a private environment, with programs designed to fit each customers' specific goals. In 1988, Man's Best Friend expanded operations to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex with the opening of a store in Grand Prairie, Texas. They now have three locations in the Metroplex, two in Houston, and two in Atlanta, Georgia, employing over 150 people collectively.

Since it's inception, Man's Best Friend has successfully trained over 75,000 dogs and owners. With a commitment to excellence and thousands of satisfied customers, Man's Best Friend is the recognized leader in the dog training/boarding industry.
